On behalf of the staff of Maynooth Educate Together NS, I welcome you to our new school website. In modern times a school website is hugely important to the parents/guardians of the children attending a school and also to the wider community. Our sincere thanks to all who worked at devising and modernizing our website. We hope that you will make good use of this website and familiarize yourself with ongoing activities by visiting it regularly..

Maynooth Educate Together NS opened its doors in September 2008.We operate under the patron body Educate Together. Our mission is to provide the best possible education, combining the Irish Primary School curriculum and the Educate Together ethos, which fosters development of children's talents, abilities and personalities. We support children in developing attitudes which will enable them to become open-minded, creative, respectful, responsible and caring members of society.

We are currently a single-stream school with two classes for children with autism. The school is managed by the Board of Management according to the ethos of Educate Together. The school is staffed by a dedicated team of teachers and special needs assistants who are committed to providing a broad inclusive education for all of our pupils. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to play an active role in the education of their children. We encourage parents to become active participants in school and classroom activities. We also understand that for many parents, it is difficult to find time to volunteer at the school. Just as important as volunteering is a daily routine of reading to you child, talking about their day and getting them prepared for the next day of school

Anniversary: In the school year 2017-2018, we will celebrate our 10th anniversary. The Board of Management has formed a committee from representatives of the school community to plan and initiate activities to mark this milestone anniversary. These activities will celebrate the success of the school and will include educational activities that deliver on the objective that our children are supported to maximize their potential and to become well-informed young people who can play a role in the future shaping of our society. We greatly look forward to having you join with us in our 10th anniversary celebrations.

Permanent Building: The Department of Education and Skills has lodged a planning application with Kildare County Council for a permanent school building in the next school year. The first phase of the project will be for an eight classroom school to include a General Purpose Room. Planning is being sought for a 16 classroom school, with the additional 8 classrooms to be constructed within the next 5 years.

These are indeed exciting times for the entire school community. I look forward to working with you all to continue the work of the last 10 years to ensure that Maynooth Educate Together NS continues to be a successful place for your children to grow and learn.

Slán go fóill,

Marie Principal
