***Postcard Project Update*** 20th June 2019

The postcard project was an unbelievable success this year and we have collected an amazing 550 postcards, from places such as Halifax, Texas, Tallinn, Helsinki, Hawaii, Sydney, India, Argentina, Sicily, Wellington, Fort Lauderdale, Tokyo, Seoul as well as local ones from Maynooth, Grafton Street, Cobh and Belfast. Sincere thanks to all families taking part as we really enjoyed learning about places around the world and improving our mapping skills! The project will continue until the end of June! A special mention to past pupils Minoru and Thomas for taking part in the project too!

10th September 2018

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We would like to invite all families to take part in our year-long ‘Postcard Project’. Our aim will be to get as many postcards sent to our class by the end of the school year, from as many countries and destinations around the world as possible. If you have family and friends abroad, or even around Ireland, please ask if they would be willing to send us a postcard from their local area, with a couple of lines about it as well as whom it’s from. If they include a return address we could send a postcard or letter to them! We will keep track of all the locations on our world map and use graphs to show our progress! It will be exciting to receive post from around the world, learn about different locations and we can also compare different stamps from different countries too.

Postcards can be sent to:

5th Class,

Maynooth Educate Together National School,

Celbridge Road,

Maynooth,

Co. Kildare.

Ireland

Thank you for your co-operation,

Kind Regards,

Noreen and Aimee
