Our book lists for the coming year have been finalised. These books are available in Maynooth Bookshop on Main Street, Maynooth. Please contact the Principal as soon as possible if you need financial support in securing class books. This is a feature of our Book Rental Scheme.
Book Rental For a number of years now, we have provided the History, Geography and Science (SESE) Books to students from 3rd to 6th class. We also provide our core class English and Gaeilge for all classes.
This year again, the Department of Education & Skills has issued an additional grant to schools to support a Book Rental Scheme. In this school year, we proposed to purchase extension English Readers and Comprehension Books for all classes.
The removal of these books from our booklists represents a saving of €70 per child at mid-school level. For this school year, we request that all students pay €10 book rental to our School Books Rental Scheme. This money is payable to the school office in September.
Book Donation Our grants received from the Department of Education & Skills will allow us to remove books year on year from our booklist. This is a work in progress and will be of huge benefit to all students. We would welcome donations of Junior Infants readers and also Maths books at all class levels, if you haven’t got anyone to pass them on to. All books donated should be in very good condition.
Care of Books Books purchased on the Book Rental Scheme will be used by students for homework. It is essential that great care is taken of these books. They should be kept clean and not written on. With careful management, these books will last many years. If books are damaged or lost, the replacement cost will accrue to parents. Please note the table books, dictionaries and some other books may be carried forward to next class.
